The year of 2019 did not disappoint Nintendo Switch’s fans. Whether you are just recently on board the Switch family or veteran owners of the console, 2019 brought us hundreds if not thousands of hours of good and memorable game time.
Another year in the gaming market only bring good things to Nintendo Switch; its library and gaming catalogue are expanding progressively. This year we see a lot of exclusive games coming to Switch as well as more and more games are being ported into Switch.
Another great thing that happens to Switch in the year of 2019 is the released of New Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite. Both of them are a great addition to Switch families which they catered to a different niche and market.
With its current positive state for Nintendo Switch, great things are expected to happen to Switch in the year 2020. Who knows what will Nintendo might pull off next to fully dominate the portable console market?

i) Astral Chain
(release date: August 2019)
The game that manage to stir some hatred among gamers around the world when Astral Chain is announced to be and exclusive release for Nintendo Switch only.
Develop by Platinum Games which some of their known work are like Bayonetta, Nier: Automata and Vanquish, Astral Chain is listed as an “Action Game”. This game start by introducing a set of twin orphans, brother and sister to be recruited into Neuron ranks. Player is asked to choose their character to be the main character and solve cases to save humankind from chimera.
Player will then will be part of an elite police force in Ark, a metropolis located on a human—made island. The game generally can be divided into two parts in which one part is the combat and the other part is doing a regular job as a cop.
The combat is just brilliant and different from any other game. Aiding in battle are creatures called legions. They are some sort your pets who are tethered to your body with a chain that stays strapped to your wrist all the time.
ii) Pokémon Sword and Shield
(release date: November 2019)
Another mainline Pokémon games finally come into Nintendo Switch. And yes, this is the game that Nintendo fans are waiting for a long time. Pokémon Sword and Shield are full with its charm and makes us just want to live there.
This time Sword and Shield introduce us to the Galar region; a regional variant that has new creations and some best Pokémon designs with a new type of combinations.
If you are an owner of Nintendo Switch, adding Pokémon Sword and Shield into your library is a must and your collection will not be going to complete without an addition of this game.
iii) Luigi Mansion 3
(release date: October 2019)
The original Luigi Mansion was released almost 18 years ago and then we had the Dark Moon in 2013 and now, the new release; Luigi Mansion 3 was always will be welcomed by us. The simplicity, comedic writing, and brilliant gameplay make us begging for this new sequel.
For those who are familiar with this game title, the gameplay remains the same. Slowly creep through a building full of traps, ghosts and clearing each floor using a backpack vacuum to inhale the specters and put them into cold storage. Each time the floor is cleared, a new floor will be made available until the whole floor is been fully exorcised.
iv) The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
(release date: September 2019)
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is not a sequel to Breath of the Wild but instead a remake that is released on original Game Boy in 1993. This game is the best reminder to new and veteran Legend of Zelda fans how the game has evolved and lead it into the award-winning game Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The game starts with the player woke up on a foreign shore in Koholint Island after a terrible storm. Soon after that, it’s all back to exploring dungeons for items that will prove crucial to progression. There are about eight dungeons need to be tackled before Link could climb Koholint’s volcano before he could head back to Hyrule.
The visual is admittedly has its old—school vibe. The perspective of the game with side – scrolling sequences, the graphics are remade to be in 3D with very vibrant color. Overall, the presentation of the game still manages to make it not to look dated.
v) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
(release date: October 2019)
Initially released in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now ported to Nintendo Switch 4 years later. It is indeed an impressive feat to port such immersive games into pocket-sized Switch. Who would imagine that now we could play this game anywhere we go?
The Witcher 3 is a very popular game that does not need an explanation of what the game is all about. And yes, the game itself managed to win over 250 Game of the Year awards.
When the game successfully ported to Switch, many criticized the visuals of this version due to the lower graphic capabilities of the Switch. But the trade—off here is now the game is playable anywhere we go.
The Witcher 3 for the Nintendo Switch version comes with its two expansion; Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine together with all of its DLC. The main game alone already offers dozens of main quests and you will pour lots of hours into it.
