Netflix is a streaming service that offers a wide variety of TV shows, movies, documentaries, and anime. This service has been used by millions of users. In 2019 alone they generate a net income of US$1.8 billion.
Of all the popular consoles that we have like Xbox and PlayStation, they all have the option to download Netflix into their system except for Nintendo Switch.
Even the outdated handheld console like PS Vita which was first released in Japan in December 2011 has Netflix in its system.
And so, the main questions remain the mystery; what’s with Nintendo Switch with Netflix?
Nintendo Switch and Netflix

It’s not an exaggeration to say that Nintendo fans are longing for Netflix to be available since its release in March 2017. To curb the thirst, our last options are to download YouTube and Hulu which are already release by Nintendo.
We are already at Switch’s third birthday. And yet, we still do not see any hint of the Netflix app to be launch for the device.
The only clue that we have perhaps is the tweet that was published all the way back in January 2018. In the tweet itself, Netflix says that they are exploring the opportunity for a Switch app. But, they still do not have any definitive plans to share.
And there’s Nintendo; who we all well known for not being open with its platform. So it is safe to assume that Nintendo also does not want Netflix to be on its platform.
When Nintendo Switch launched, the President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime made it clear that getting popular apps like Netflix are not their top priority. Instead, their aim was to focus on getting the Switch to launch good games for the console.
In the end, we have this both confusing mess. It is unsure whether to blame it on Netflix or on Nintendo. Does Netflix has become complacent with the position in the streaming space? Or does Nintendo being restrictive with who can and cannot put apps on the Switch?
Maybe it is the combination of both but until one of them comes up with a solution, we will never see Netflix coming any way sooner on Nintendo Switch.
Install Netflix on Nintendo – but with a catch

Yes, you actually can access Netflix on Nintendo Switch but it involves modding your Switch which obviously illegal in the eyes of Nintendo.
Modders at XDA Developers have developed a system to make it possible to access certain apps. This could be achieved by installing Android OS on the console.
Hence, by having Android OS on the Switch, apps like Chrome, Spotify, and Twitch are now possible to run on Switch.
With Android OS on Switch, games like PUBG are also possible to be played. However, when playing PUBG mobile on the console, but there is no Joy-con support.
