The Nintendo Switch will always be one of my favorite gaming consoles of all time. I have been fans of Nintendo console since I’m just a little kid. I still remember the first portable console I own from Nintendo is Game Boy and that is the moment when I start to fall in love with Nintendo.
Long after that, Nintendo announces they will launch another portable Nintendo Switch known as Switch Lite. At first, I hesitate to purchase it since I already own the Nintendo Switch. Having the same function, I keep wondering do I need another Switch? And to be honest, I would still say owning Switch Lite is still a good purchase for me.
Given our current status now; staying at home is pretty much what we all do for our new norm this year. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced us to stay at home while practicing social distancing.
That might be one of the reasons for you to buy Nintendo Switch Lite this year. To kill your boredom while staying at home all day long. But wait, that’s not all. There is maybe hundreds more reason for you to buy Switch Lite this year. But to simplify, these will be all the main reasons why you should buy Nintendo Switch Lite this instant.
Switch Lite Beauty
Just look at all these Switch Lite. The vibrant colors make the console pop in the eyes and it is simply BEAUTIFUL.
Optimized for Handheld Gaming
This console is not only just a pretty face, it is optimized just for handheld gaming with a sleek design.
The design is made to hold the console comfortably for a long hour of gaming.
Display is Magnificent
Switch Lite is smaller compared to its big brother; the Nintendo Switch.
Hence, the display will be smaller but the pixels are denser, making the display appear in higher quality.
But you will likely even notice the difference between the two screens.
It’s thin and light
This console is made to be thin and light. And it happens because of a reason. First, it’s thin and lighter so that we can hold them for a longer period of gaming.
And secondly, some people reported that Switch Lite can now even fit in their pockets. Which is exactly it’s a pleasant bonus for handheld experience.
Battery life last long
Although Switch Lite is small, the battery is not something to laugh about. It’s a good thing to hear that the battery life seems to be about as good as advertised.
Playing a demanding game like Super Smash Bros Ultimate, I’m getting an estimated time of 3.5 to 4 hours with the game before I need to recharge it again which is pretty good.
Lots of AAA games and exclusive games
There are over 2,500 games in the Switch’s library. A lot of AAA games are making its way into the Switch library and basically, you will never run out of games to play.
Apart from that, Nintendo Switch also boasts many exclusive games that no other console has; Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and a lot more.
All in all, with all of its specialty, the best things about Nintendo Switch Lite is it will cost you only $199.
With all the tons of hours of a fun game that you will get, it’s a steal.
With all the great things you hear about Switch Lite, there must be something that makes Switch Lite not to be the ultimate handheld console of all time.
Yes, it’s true, Switch Lite has its flaws.
Few things set Switch Lite to be apart from the original. First is it doesn’t have detachable controllers and secondly can’t connect to a TV.
Another thing to take note, some games won’t be ideal for Switch Lite. Those games that require the detachable Joy-Cons like Just Dance 2020 won’t be ideal and in some cases won’t even work with Switch Lite.
Lastly, the one thing that bothers me the most is the fluidity to transfer save data from my regular Switch and a Switch Lite. Yes, the Nintendo account can be connected to both Nintendo Switch.
To connect your account to multiple devices is fairly simple. One will act as the primary console and the other will have limited secondary options. When you connect a single account on various devices, the second device can only be played if you are connected to Wi-Fi and the primary device isn’t being used. Or else, just use a physical cartridge.
Another problem will happen when transferring the saved file. It’s not something that impossible to happen but the process is quite hassled to do so. The detailed process to transfer data could be learned from this guide by clicking this link. The process to transfer saves data between two consoles with the same account will not be as easy as the system implemented in PlayStation.
With that being said, although having its flaw, Switch Lite is still a great device to own in 2020. The unbeatable price and all its specialty make owning Switch Lite is a must.
