Logitech Gaming Software is an app released in early 2010 that will run in your background using low resource demands on the system. This software will greatly simplify all the processes to setting up and personalizing Logitech devices such as gaming mice, keyboards, headsets, speakers, or wheels through other settings.   

What is Logitech G Hub 

Logitech G Hub is almost similar to Logitech Gaming Software in the sense this software is also a customization tool and portal for Logitech peripherals. However, G Hub is the recent and latest revision of the software to deliver more versatility profile creation options.  

Logitech G Hub is the modern version of Logitech Gaming Software. It replaced Logitech Gaming Software for all Logitech Gaming peripherals released from 2019 onward. 

Features and Benefits of Logitech Gaming Software 

Using Logitech Gaming Software, you can create macros, bindings, and commands and assigned them to profiles that are either user-defined or associated with specific games.  

Logitech supplies default profiles from an extensive library of games. Each of these profiles is customizable. Logitech Gaming Software will automatically detect the game and switch to the appropriate profile seamlessly.  

Plus, Logitech Gaming Software also allows DPI sensitivity tweaks, key duration heat map function, RGB tuning, profile for different surfaces, and monitoring information. 

The best features on Logitech Gaming Software are all comes down to the ability to personalize peripherals to particular games and change settings on the go.  

However, Logitech is phasing it out in favor of Logitech G Hub as all Logitech models launching from 2019 onwards are only compatible with Logitech G Hub. 

Features and Benefits of Logitech G Hub 

Logitech G Hub is much sleeker, more intuitive, and has a redesigned UI compared to Logitech Gaming Software. And this makes it a far more enjoyable app to use. Upon entering Logitech G Hub, the main screen will let you see all your Logitech gaming devices. As well as the ability to browse all community made lighting and gaming profiles. 

There are new features in the software; include the ability to download and share custom game profiles with the Logitech community, integration into OBS, third – party streaming app, Discord button assignment within the software, and the ability to create save multiple same – game profiles and switch them seamlessly.  

Other than that, you also can set up DPI steps on your mouse, drag the points off to delete DPI steps, and the ability to set your mouse’s polling rate. 

There are more features coming to Logitech G Hub in the future. This is because Logitech shifts its full attention towards Logitech G Hub. 

Logitech Gaming Software VS Logitech G Hub 

At some points, this question will arrive, which one is better? 

To be honest, one is not better than the other. Because both of them are viable options and can do the same things. 

However, in the term of seniority, Logitech Gaming Software has been around much longer and support a lot of devices compared to Logitech G Hub.  

But on the brighter side, Logitech G Hub offers a sleeker and modern UI and only supports newer Logitech gaming devices. 

As of today, I would recommend you to go with what you prefer. Going for one or the other will not hinder you to enjoy your gaming experiences using Logitech peripherals.
