Essential Nintendo Switch Accessories for Traveler

Being a traveler doesn’t stop me from playing games. With the released of Nintendo Switch in 2017, I’m now able to play all my favorite games on the go even when I’m out traveling. The ability for this console to run games like Diablo 3, Doom, The Legend of Zelda; Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Fortnite, Skyrim and a thousand of other great games really impress me.

Since Nintendo Switch is portable, it’s easy to carry it around. However, I need to equip it with proper accessories before getting my Nintendo Switch to travel with it around the world. Here are my top must have Nintendo Switch accessories to all travelers;

i) Anker Nintendo Switch Power Bank

Having extra power is extremely essential when I’m traveling. Having a smartphone, tablet, cameras and all other electronic devices required me to be prepared whenever there is no power outlet to charge my devices. This is the times where having a power bank help me a lot during my times traveling.

Finding the perfect battery pack that keeps Nintendo Switch juiced up is harder than it seems. A normal power bank will never have the ability to charge it fast enough while you play. Or having a thought third-party power bank might brick your Switch will always scare me.

I would say based on my experience; Anker PowerCore 20100 for Nintendo Switch Edition is the perfect power bank for my needs. As an officially authorized product from Nintendo itself, I know I’m getting a good quality item on my hand. Since this is Nintendo patented version, the price will be slightly higher than any other Anker brand. However, I believe any standard Anker version model should do the job just fine.

This high capacity power bank provides 2.5 charges to my Nintendo Switch which means approximately 15 hours of additional playtime. Right from the box, Anker generously gives USB-C Cable and travel pouch together with the main product.

ii) Skull & Co GripCase Set

This is arguably the things that made traveling with Nintendo Switch possible. Putting Switch in my backpack without a case will jeopardize my Switch; it might break, the controller has a high chance to dysfunction or else the screen might crack.

All these bad things might happen to your Switch if it is not being protected properly. Luckily with Skull & Co. GripCase Set, I could rest assured that my Switch is sitting safe and sound in my backpack.

Skull & Co. GripCase is among one of the most popular Nintendo Switch cases out there in the market because it is like a dual blade. This casing serves two main purposes; one is to protect with the carrying case and the other one is to give better ergonomics with its protective grip when I play it in console mode. The case is durable, affordable and loaded with pockets to put in ten physical games and accessories.

This case also packs a sturdy shell that is designed with a convenient carrying handle and has a padded interior to keep my Switch’s screen and Joy–Con analogue sticks safe. Apart from the big carrying case, what you also get out of the box is the protective grip case with three different grips that could be changed according to your hand size and to your chosen comfort.

iii) SanDisk 128GB Micro SD Card

Unlike PS4 or Xbox One who have a storage capacity up to 500GB or 1TB, Nintendo Switch only comes with only 32GB on the console itself. For that reason, buying a memory card is essential to install all the number of digital games into Nintendo Switch.

At this moment, speed is something not worth considering when purchasing a micro SD because Nintendo Switch only supports UHS–1 card, which only maxes out at 104MB/s in terms of speed. But that doesn’t mean you can buy any micro SD out in the market because it will hurt your playing experience, especially on the loading times.

I would at least recommend going for one of the most official micro SD for Nintendo Switch which is Sandisk. As this is Nintendo branded memory cards, it will be the safest bet you could get on the market. And what’s even interesting is it come with a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty too.

iv) AmFilm Screen Protector

If you intend to play Nintendo Switch 100% in docked mode, you are pleased to ignore to apply a screen protector to your Switch. However, if it’s something else, then applying a screen protector is a must.

This is another must-have accessories for your Nintendo Switch. Chances to scratch Switch at some point are high and you will hate yourself when it did truly happen.

AmFilm is tempered glass to keep Switch screen sharp and scratch–free. Not only this tempered glass is significantly stronger than those made of plastic, but they are also absolutely easy to install with no bubble appear. Other advantages of this screen protector are that the glass is crystal clear, covers the entire Switch screen and fingerprints wipe right off.
