Killing demon on the go? Count me in. Diablo 3 captured tons of attention since this will be the first time Blizzard ported their game into Nintendo. Blizzard has launched many games and some of them are; Hearthstone, World of Warcraft and Overwatch. Although Diablo 3 is not a new game which the first released is on May 2012 for PC and since then many consoles like PS4 and Xbox One already able to play this game a long time ago. But, why on earth when this game announced to release on Switch, it still excites millions of people? The answer is portability.
It never crosses our mind that we could play Diablo 3 whenever we go until they finally release it to Switch on November 2018. After playing with Diablo 3 for hundreds of hours, this is what I sincerely feel towards this masterpiece.
i) Smooth as butter
Setting up, picking your character and jump into the gameplay is always smooth as butter. Even jumping from one map to another take a matter of seconds. This game runs perfectly in Switch. The frame rate is also not an issue when you are playing this game either in docked or portable mode. I could find although tons of enemies swarming up in one area, not a single lag to be detected. However, when I play in online multiplayer mode, I do sometimes suddenly get kicked from the server or can feel a major stutter when the room full with enemies while both of us, who is in fact, having a strong connection to the internet. But this problem is not regular and the problem most probably coming from the Diablo 3 server.
Isn’t this too obvious? Yes, it is. However, this is still the sole reason that makes the veteran players of Diablo 3 and together with the newcomer to come back to join the glory of Diablo 3 game.
The ability to play this game on the go is too great to ignore. This game does require a lot of power to play. With a single charge, the longest play time I can enjoy Diablo 3 is two hours max.
iii) Seasonal make you come back every time
Diablo 3 on Switch is the full game with no different counterpart from its PC version. The price of $59.99 that you pay will include;
- Diablo 3 game
- The Reaper of Souls Expansion
- Rise of the Necromancer pack
However, cross-play across another platform is not available. So, if you already spend 500 hours on PC, you cannot bring your character to Switch version. You must start all over again to build up all your characters back up to your glory.
All players of Diablo 3 in Switch will also have seasonal characters option to play. Seasonal could be summarized as;
“Seasons are an optional, recurring game mode that allows you the opportunity to start fresh every few months, leveling a Normal or Hardcore character from scratch without previously earned items, paragon levels, materials, and gold. A great positive of the Season is reliving the initial progression and seeing a character grow in great strides. Seasons are separate much like the Normal and Hardcore game modes, and it might seem intimidating that your Seasonal character will have to start his own stash, experience, and artisan progression. None of your efforts will be wasted, however, as all your endeavors within a Season — characters, items, paragon levels, gold, etc. — will be rolled over as non-seasonal once the Season concludes. A unique incentive of Seasons is the trackable Seasonal Journeys, exclusive Transmogrification awards, and a separate Leaderboard that allows everyone to compete on even grounds.”Quoted from Icy Veins
Hence, there is no losing point at all if you start with seasonal characters. Pick your favo
